Tummy Tuck Belts Cannot Remove Excess Skin
Posted June 10, 2013 in Mommy Makeover Category, Tummy Tuck CategoryAn infomercial recently appeared on television marketing a tummy tuck belt. In a matter of minutes with no downtime required, this product can supposedly reduce the amount of fat around the midsection and leave individuals with a flat stomach and toned abdominals.
How the Belt Supposedly Works
Using the tummy tuck belt only requires four easy steps:
1. Apply thermal accelerating cream.
2. Put on the tummy tuck belt.
3. Perform two minutes of tummy tightening exercises.
4. Wear the belt for an additional eight minutes.
So what’s the catch?
According to the manufacturer, there isn’t one. They advertise that all you have to lose is the inches off your waist, but the reality is that a belt cannot provide results similar to tummy tuck surgery.
The Reality
Although the manufacturer also states that universities have completed testing that further proves their claim that the tummy tuck belt works effectively, they do not list the names of the universities or the types of studies that were conducted.
While a small number of people may have had success with the belt, many online reviews that assessed the performance of this system reflected that it did not work effectively.
Although the belt may have some effect in toning up the abdominals, many medical professionals would agree that the only way to successfully attain a more attractive-looking stomach is to follow a regular diet and exercise routine or undergo a tummy tuck procedure.
