The pulse from the laser light renews scar tissue and promotes the production of collagen to improve the appearance of the scar.  In comparison to surgery, the Palomar Laser Icon offers fast, effective scar reduction with very little risk and less downtime. The handpiece also has an advanced cooling system that is delivered immediately to the skin tissue to lessen pain. Directly after the treatment, patients may experience mild redness to the skin and/or a sensation of heat.  This usually only lasts about two to three days. Most patients can return to work immediately after a treatment.
