Photofacials in Scottsdale with Palomar Laser Icon
Posted May 22, 2012 in Home, Skin and LaserFor a majority of my patients, looking and feeling great is skin deep. Fortunately, the best skin rejuvenation treatments to reveal clearer, healthier, and more attractive skin are available in my Scottsdale cosmetic surgery office. The FDA-approved Palomar Laser Icon has one of the most powerful aesthetic light systems in the world. I am pleased to offer this advanced laser and pulsed light system for patients suffering from rosacea or redness in the face, blood vessels, age spots, large pores, and more.
A photofacial using the Palomar Laser Icon is unlike any other photofacial treatments out there. The advanced lighting of the Icon allows patients to see faster, better results. For those who are looking to improve the appearance of port wine stains, broken facial veins, rosy cheeks, freckles, age marks, surface lines, wrinkles and mild acne spots, I would highly recommend a photofacial using the Palomar Laser Icon.
For most patients, one treatment will make a significant improvement. The dual filter technology delivers optimally filtered wavelengths of pulsed light, for results as good as or better than those of other lasers.
The non-invasive photofacial procedure is quick and effective. I advise that you avoid the sun and do not tan weeks before and after your appointment. For the procedure, you will be provided with eye-protective wear to shield your eyes from the laser. The Laser Icon handpiece will be placed on your skin to deliver pulses of light to the area of treatment. You should have very little discomfort; some patients describe the procedure like a light pinch or snap of a rubber band. Some may be more sensitive, and in that case, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the area.
The procedure only takes about a half hour, and you can resume normal activities immediately after. As with any procedure, potential risks and side effects may occur. Though it is rare, patients may experience some swelling, blistering, or bruising. For optimal results, I recommend patients have a course of four to six sessions, every three to six weeks.
