MICRO-NEEDLING in Scottsdale and Phoenix

I am excited and happy to offer my patients a new way to treat fine lines and acne scars as well as improve the texture, tone and color of their skin.  This treatment is called Automated Micro-Needling.

Our office aesthetician, Kristina, performs this using the ‘Eclipse Micropen’.  This device attaches to a sterile needle-tip containing 12 small micro-needles that penetrate the skin several millimeters.

The science behind Micro-Needling (also called collagen induction therapy) is well documented with an excellent safety record.  The micro-needles create micro-injuries to the skin.  Your skin responds by increasing the production of collagen and elastin.  This leads to a thicker and more youthful dermis skin layer.  At the same time, the small needles in the Micropen create very small channels that allow topical skin care products (gels, serums and creams) to absorb better.  These results occur without the risk of scarring or loss of pigmentation.

The results of this treatment include softening of wrinkles, improvement to the texture and tone of your skin and reversal of sundamage.  At the same time, the procedure lessens hyper-pigmentation and treats acne scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tones.

This procedure is performed in the office without the need for anesthesia.  A topical gel is placed on the skin to provide comfort during the treatment.  It usually takes around 30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.

I usually recommend a series of treatments (2 to 3) performed 6 to 8 weeks apart for an improved outcome.  However, some patients may only require one treatment and others with deeper lines or more severe skin damage even more treatments.
