How Is an Endoscopic Brow Lift Performed?
Posted February 23, 2017 in Brow LiftTechnological developments in plastic surgery have expedited countless procedures to yield excellent results without many of the downsides of recovery. The endoscopic brow lift (also called an endoscopic forehead lift) is a procedure that has advanced beyond traditional brow lift techniques to produce high-quality results without a painful recovery and associated scarring.
What It Does
Brow lift surgery differs from facelift surgery and eyelid surgery in area of focus as well as technique. Facelift surgery rejuvenates the mid and lower face, while eyelid surgery rejuvenates the eyelids and the area directly around the eyes. The brow lift, on the other hand, elevates the brows and smooths out fine lines and wrinkles that appear on the forehead or between the brows. This creates a more youthful and rested appearance. Often, brow lift surgery is combined with eyelid surgery and/or facelift surgery to rejuvenate the whole face.
How the Procedure Works
For the endoscopic brow lift, the patient is placed under general anesthesia. The procedure requires only a few very small incisions hidden behind the hairline. Through these small incisions, Dr. Spies can perform the brow lift procedure endoscopically without risking visible scars or hair loss. Through one incision, Dr. Spies inserts an endoscope, which is a small tool with a tiny camera attached to a monitor to give the surgeon a clear view of the underlying tissues. Then, Dr. Spies inserts surgical instruments to lift and alter the brow and forehead tissues. Dr. Spies removes tissue where necessary and repositions the remaining tissue to create a smoother and more lifted brow and forehead. The procedure takes careful finesse and usually lasts less than two hours. Because of the use of an endoscope, recovery is far milder than after traditional brow lift surgery. Patients can achieve worthwhile and rewarding results with a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance by undergoing endoscopic brow lift surgery. Results typically last for many years.
The endoscopic brow lift improves the position and appearance of the brows and forehead to rejuvenate the upper face. Dr. Robert Spies performs endoscopic brow lift surgery and other plastic surgery procedures to minimize signs of aging for patients from all walks of life.
