Daddy Makeover
Posted June 25, 2018 in Daddy Makeover CategoryThe desire for men to undergo cosmetic surgery is at an all-time high, and dads deserve to look and feel their best just as much as moms.
A daddy makeover combines various procedures to create an overall improved appearance. The ideal male physique is characterized by broad shoulders, a tight chest, a flat abdominal region, and narrow waistline. For some men, this would not be achievable without the help of cosmetic surgery procedures.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a body contouring procedure used to remove stubborn subcutaneous fat from various areas of the body. It is a fully customizable fat-reduction procedure that achieves results by targeting unwanted fat deposits. The most commonly treated part of the body is the abdomen. Other areas of the body that are frequently requested by men for treatment with liposuction are the flanks, chest, lower back, and neck. Men between the ages of 30 and 50 are more likely to undergo liposuction. A unique type of liposuction called ultrasonic liposuction is especially effective for the stubborn areas of fat, including the male chest and love handles.
Procedure
During a liposuction procedure, the patient will be put under general anesthesia, but some surgeons may only administer local anesthesia when performing liposuction on the neck. A fluid is injected into the section that will be treated to cause numbness and help control bleeding during the procedure. Small incisions will be made to insert a narrow metal tube under the skin. The surgeon will move the metal tube back and forth to break up fat cells. The fat cells are then suctioned out through the tube and into a collecting canister for disposal. The ultrasonic technique includes one more step where fat is first broken down before suctioning out of the body using heat and ultrasonic waves.
Recovery
Most patients report feeling sore and will experience some pain and discomfort that can be managed with prescription pain medication. After about three days, any residual pain can be controlled with over-the-counter pain medication. Bruising and swelling will be present in the treated area and will usually dissipate in two to four weeks. It is recommended to wait two to three weeks after treatment to resume any exercise regimen. Most patients will return to work in three to seven days.
Benefits
Liposuction is considered a permanent treatment. When fat is removed from an area it does not tend to come back as long as you maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. The main benefit of liposuction treatment is to restore confidence and improve self-esteem.
Gynecomastia Surgery
Gynecomastia is a condition in men characterized by an overgrowth of naturally occurring breast tissue. Gynecomastia surgery removes this excess breast tissue to restore the chest to a flatter and firmer appearance.
Procedure
The procedure can be performed as a traditional open surgery or as a minimally invasive surgery using keyhole incisions. Depending on the technique used by your surgeon, the position of scars and how big they are will vary. Traditional surgery will require an incision on the lower edge of the areola to remove glandular breast tissue. During a keyhole incision surgery, an incision will usually be made under the arm, away from the breast.
Recovery
The first three to four days following surgery, the patient will have increased bruising and swelling that will taper off. Your surgeon may suggest a compression garment to be worn for one to two weeks to help with swelling and discomfort. Most patients will return to work after five to seven days. The stitches will be removed in seven to 10 days following surgery. Refraining from exercise and heavy lifting for a minimum of 14 days is advised.
